Irish Census | Companion app for 1911 census

Introducing iCensus

1911 Census of Ireland – All 32 counties.

The National Archive of Ireland recently released the details of the 1911 census. This is a valuable resource that includes images of the original census forms which were handwritten by the head of the household.

The forms include details on the age, religion, jobs, children and education of the occupants. Also included are the returns containing details of houses

iCensus is the ideal companion for searching this historical record.

- Search or drill down from county level

Search on any of the digitised fields (Surname, Forename, Age, Address)

- Phonetic name matching

See variations on the names you search for. This helps you locate entries that may have been spelled differently or mis-transcribed during digitisation.

e.g. Hayden, Haydan, Haiden and Haydin

- View, crop and save images from the original census returns.

Zoom in to see data not yet transcribed. Save screenshots to your iPhone’s Saved Photos. Store the downloaded return on your iPhone for later viewing.

- Bookmark individual entries. View your browsing history.

Easily return to that entry you found yesterday.

- Email details to relatives and friends.

Send the list of occupants on Census night. Include links to the original return images.
